Marc Davies Bespoke Interiors has opened a new workshop in Hanslope, marking an important new chapter for the business after an incredibly challenging few months.
Known for beautifully crafted bespoke furniture and interiors, Marc has worked tirelessly to secure a new home for the workshop while staying true to the area and community that have supported him for so many years.
Just five months ago, Marc was told his previous premises were set for redevelopment, and faced the difficult task of finding a new space, as covered by MKFM.
It was a stressful and uncertain time, but he was determined to remain close to the new city, where his business has deep roots and where so many of his clients, collaborators and supporters are based.
At the recent official opening, the Mayor of Milton Keynes Paul Trendall was in attendence with Deputy Lieutenant Melanie Beck, who officially cut the ribbon to mark the occasion.
In a fitting tribute to Marc’s craftsmanship, the giant ribbon itself was handmade by Marc from solid mahogany —an imaginative and personal touch that reflected both his skill and his character.
“For traditional crafts to thrive, makers need not only recognition, but practical support through sustainable and affordable spaces such as this where creativity and skilled workmanship can flourish," said the DL.
The gathering brought together clients and people who have supported Marc throughout his journey to find a new workshop, creating a warm and heartfelt celebration of resilience, community and new beginnings.
"Opening this new workshop means so much after everything that has happened over the past five months. It has been a hard road, but I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who stood by me and helped make this possible," Marc said.
"Staying near Milton Keynes was so important to me, and I’m proud to begin this next chapter in Hanslope with the people who have supported my business along the way."
