NPLQ Course

Stantonbury Leisure Centre will be running a NPLQ Course Monday 27th July - Saturday 1st August 2026 with assessment on the Saturday

The RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is internationally recognised and the most awarded lifeguard qualification in the UK.

The NPLQ qualification is a minimum of 37 hours tuition followed by a multiple choice test & practical assessment on the following skills:

Pool Theory
Pool Rescue
First aid
CPR
Tuition Monday - Friday . Assessment Saturday

Courses are delivered by our own staff who are trained to the highest standard.

The full cost of the course is £275

Eligibility:

To be able to book a space you will need to be at least 16 years old and able to demonstrate the following :

Tread water for 30 seconds
Jump/Dive into deep water
Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water
Climb out of pool unaided without using steps
Surface dive to the floor of the pool 2m deep
