The remarkable 'tail' of one lucky feline from Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes Veterinary Group (MKVG) say they are often amazed by the courage of the animals they care for — and Dolly’s story is one they will never forget.

Back in May, two-year-old Dolly had a frightening accident when she fell from a third-floor window. Her worried owners rushed her to the Walnut Tree branch of the veterinary group, where she was found to have a wound on her tummy and wasn’t feeling well, but was still bright and alert.

Vet Debbie Kilkenny checked her over straight away and made sure she was comfortable and out of pain. Dolly was given pain killers, fluids, and lots of care to help her feel better while they found out what was going on.

After some checks, it was discovered she had a rupture in her abdominal wall and needed surgery.

The next morning, vet Rory Burke carried out the operation to repair the damage — and brave little Dolly pulled through beautifully; she was even eating small meals later that same day!

With lots of love, rest, and attention from her owners, she made an amazing recovery and was soon back to her normal happy self.

'We’re so proud of Dolly’s recovery — and grateful to her owners for trusting us through such a difficult time,' said a spokesperson for MKVG.
