
All lanes on the M1 Southbound have now re-opened following a road traffic collision near Newport Pagnell Services earlier this evening, with emergency services in attendance.
An injured woman had to be freed from her car by the Fire Service after colliding with an HGV.
Multiple vehicles were left 'trapped' between J15 and the incident, with motorists being stuck for at least an hour.
The incident happened just after Newport Pagnell Services between J15 and J14.
Traffic has now returned to normal in the affected area.
Members of the public were reporting that there were delays of up to two hours on the motorway earlier as a result of the accident.
Shortly after the incident, a broken down vehicle was closing one lane of the motorway southbound causing further delays.
There are currently roadworks taking place in the affected section, with narrow lanes and a 50mph speed restriction in place.1 lane (of 3) is now open on the #M1 southbound, J15 - J14 near #MiltonKeynes, following a collision involving a car and a HGV. @tvprp @tvp_mk are at scene.
