Police release image following Milton Keynes assault

Victim punched in attempted bike theft.

Thames Valley Police have released an image of a man that officers would like to speak to following a robbery attempt in Milton Keynes.

A man in his thirties, attempted to intervene when he saw a man trying to take a pedal cycle from the cycle racks at the front of Milton Keynes College on Chaffron Way, at around 1.50pm on Monday 2nd March.

The victim tried to hold on to the bicycle as the man pulled it away in attempt to break free with it, using sufficient force to cause the victim to fall on the floor and across the ground whilst gripping the bicycle.

The man punched the victim and then attempted to strike him again before leaving the scene without the bike, due to the victim’s resistance. The victim suffered minor injuries from the incident but did not require hospital treatment.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this or has information that may assist us to please get in touch,” said Detective Constable Tony Miles of the Milton Keynes Priority Crime Team.

“If you recognise the man in the image, or if this is you, please contact us as we think this person may have information to assist our investigation.

“If you have any information relating to this incident, please call 101 or report it online via our website, quoting 43260103304. Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via its website.”
