Milton Keynes dance talent to get boost through MÓTUS development programme

Milton Keynes dance organisation MÓTUS is launching the 2026 edition of its Adjustments programme, offering mentoring, funding and performance opportunities to early-career choreographers.

The programme is open to choreographers from across Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire and the surrounding regions.

Running from April to May 2026, the programme will support six emerging dance artists, culminating in a public performance on May 23 as part of the MÓTUS Festival.

Applications are now open and will close on March 23.

Supported by The Leche Trust and Arts Council England, Adjustments aims to strengthen the local dance scene by giving new artists access to professional mentoring, studio space and practical industry skills - opportunities that are often concentrated in larger dance hubs.

Under the leadership of Artistic Director Cameron Ball, the refreshed pilot programme focuses on helping choreographers take the next step in their careers.

“Developing new talent has always been a central focus of MÓTUS. There is so much creativity in and around Milton Keynes, but not enough support for artists at the start of their careers," Cameron said.

"Adjustments helps address that gap by offering mentoring, space and guidance so early-career choreographers can grow with confidence and feel part of a thriving dance community."

Selected artists will receive one-to-one mentoring with established choreographers, scratch funding and studio space to develop new work, professional development workshops with industry specialists covering fundraising, touring and producing, creative health and wellbeing, environmental sustainability and ongoing support from the MÓTUS team on artistic development and navigating the dance sector

Participants will also take part in a scratch performance sharing in mid-May, allowing them to test ideas and receive feedback before presenting work publicly.

Artists can apply via the MÓTUS website, submitting a short digital application including a CV, video link and statement of interest.
