Milton Keynes charity benefits from major annual campaign by Miller Homes

Staff from a national housebuilder have raised almost £30,000 for a Milton Keynes charity thanks to an annual campaign led by its employees.

Miller Homes South Midlands took on a 12-month fundraising programme to help raise money and awareness for Medical Detection Dogs, which has close links to the developer.

The housing firm, based at its regional headquarters in Northamptonshire, has announced it managed to raise £29,986.36 thanks to the efforts of its internal team and associated contractors and partners who contributed towards the overall fundraising amount.

Medical Detection Dogs is a charity who is responsible for the training of dogs to be able to detect odours linked to human disease, to develop less invasive and more efficient ways of diagnosing patients, leading to better outcomes.

Gavin Jones, managing director of Miller Homes South Midlands, said: “Our most recent charity fundraising efforts has exceeded all our expectations thanks to the commitment and dedication of our fantastic team of staff and all our sub contractor partners."

Fundraising efforts by Miller Homes South Midlands included a visit to Whilton Mill race track, where staff and contractors took part in a charity go-karting event, helping to raise over £20,000 of the overall total during its annual charity programme.

The firm also laid a path in the memorial garden to make it wheelchair friendly for visitors.
