Police in Milton Keynes have taken to social media to explain the importance of Stop and Search Powers, following an arrest in the city last week.
On Thursday afternoon, police officers from the CMK Neighbourhood Policing Team were on cycle patrol in the Campbell Park area following reports of drug dealing, when they detained a male for a Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act search.
A spokesperson said: 'The male was subsequently arrested on suspicion of Possession With Intent to Supply Class A and Class B drugs after he was found to be in possession of multiple deal bags containing suspected controlled substances, along with other items commonly associated with drug supply.
'The male has since been interviewed and bailed for further investigative enquiries to take place, such as forensic testing of the substances to determine exactly what they are.
'This is a great reminder that Stop and Search powers are an important tool that help us prevent and detect crime, disrupt harmful activity and keep the public safe.
'As always, a lot of what we do is based around information and intelligence received from yourselves in the community, which helps us direct our patrols and efforts to being in the right place at the right time, which on this occasion we most certainly were!'
