Following the recent launch of the new knife amnesty bin in Springfield at Campbell Park Community Council, police say the initiative has already proven to be a valuable asset to the community.
On Monday, the bin was emptied for the first time, and 50 knives of various types were safely surrendered.
"That’s 50 weapons permanently removed from our streets and responsibly disposed of — a strong indication that the community is willing to support efforts to reduce violence and making Milton Keynes City a safer place,"a spokesperson said.
