June News from Camphill MK!

Welcome to Camphill MK's newsletter. As ever, they have been busy bees and can boast a whole host of activities. If you've missed the latest on social media, here's what they've been up to last month.

    Our Midsummer Fair

On Saturday, 21st June, we hosted our Midsummer Fair.

We were treated to fantastic live music by Tom Craven and Lauren Rich, which created a brilliant atmosphere throughout the day.

The event featured a variety of stalls, including our garden stall and bakery stall, as well as face painting, a tombola, and a café that kept everyone refreshed with coffee and ice cream.
Our Performing Arts Workshop also hosted two interactive, escape-room-style performances of 'Fete of the War,' which the audience loved.
Tracy said, "We had a great time here. Did the Fete of War, following clues to catch a spy and find the missing secret plans. Thank you to all the actors who played their parts so well. Thanks go to the organisers also. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Will definitely go again."

It was a truly wonderful day, shared with a fantastic community of people.
Thank you all for joining us!

New Extension Thanks to the Big Give Campaign

Thank you to everyone who donated to our Big Give campaign last December. Your generosity, combined with that of three trusts —the Anson Charitable Trust, Old Possums Practical Trust, and The Reed Foundation —pledged to double the difference and match-funded your donations, enabling us to raise a whopping £34,000.

Our plans to create extensions to existing homes for our residents to have the space to live comfortably have already begun. Extensions to the existing homes within the Camphill MK Community will transform the growing houses, allowing us to continue addressing the long waiting lists for adults with disabilities to have a permanent home.

Camphill Gardens and Facilities team “Highly Commended!”

On Friday, 6th June, some of the Camphill Gardening team – Will, Ian, Teresa and our CEO, Tim, headed up to London Bankside for the Housing with Care Awards 2025 event.
We were nominated in the national awards for three areas, a great achievement to reach the finals, as that puts us in the top four or five organisations across the country, and we were thrilled to be “highly commended” for:

    • The Garden Landscaper Award

    • The Building and Design Award

It was a lovely evening celebrating achievements in housing and social care with many big providers from across the country.
We want to congratulate our Gardens and Facilities teams for their exceptional work on our gardens and on progressing the build of our new house at Michaels Akyre –
    Bradbury House.
    Tim said,
“There is so much about Camphill MK to feel proud of. My sincere thanks to everyone who works exceptionally hard every day to achieve what we do at Camphill Milton Keynes.”
