Three month ruling on Newport Pagnell property.
Newport Pagnell police have successfully applied to the court for a closure order on an address in Whitethorns, Newport Pagnell, following multiple complaints from local residents.
Complaints centred around people visiting the property and engaging in drug‑related anti‑social behaviour. This behaviour has had a significant impact on the wider community, say police.
Under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, a closure order gives police the legal power to restrict access to a property to prevent ongoing nuisance and disorder.
This order now makes it a criminal offence for anyone other than the named resident, police, and the council to be inside the address for the next three months.
“If you are not the occupant and you are found in the property, you will be arrested,” said a police spokesperson from the North Neighbourhood Team.
“We will continue to work with our partners to put safeguarding in place to ensure the resident receives the ongoing support they need. This is part of our ongoing commitment to protect our community and support vulnerable individuals.
