Celebrating LEGO® and Local Heritage in Milton Keynes

After more than nine months of meticulous construction, the Brickz Museum opened its doors on April 5, 2025.

Located in Milton Keynes within the same building as the National Film & Sci-Fi Museum and the Pixel Bunker retro arcade, Brickz spans over 3,500 square feet and features an awe-inspiring collection of over 5 million LEGO® bricks.

The grand opening day was celebrated by fans of all ages, visiting from far across the UK, each with their own very special relationship with the LEGO® Brick. Characters from popular movie franchises kicked off the party, and posed for photos with visitors as they soaked in this colourful world made of plastic bricks!

The first 100 visitors were treated to a limited edition printed “celebration” brick as a keepsake from such a memorable day. An exclusive printed 1x8 Brickz Museum LEGO® brick is now also available for purchase by all visitors in our retail area, alongside some other fun merch.

Visitors were encouraged to leave their mark on graffiti walls, write names, or draw small symbols entirely in LEGO® bricks. Those collectors of “passport stamps” bought along their LEGO® passports, already filled with stamps from their travels to stores and attractions from around the world, adding the exclusive Brickz Museum stamp to their collection. These stamps, available in 2 colours, are available for all visitors to the museum to collect. Just bring along your passport and visit the front desk. Watch out for exclusive themed stamps in future too!

    A Brick-Built Journey Through Time

The Brickz Museum offers a unique journey through the rich history of LEGO®, from its origins as simple wooden toys in the 1930s to the globally beloved toy it is today.

The museum showcases a vast array of official LEGO® sets, impressive custom-built MOCs (My Own Creations), and provides an immersive experience into the brand’s development over the decades.

Visitors love the large builds with thousands of bricks and up to 5 meters by 5 meters, representing classic LEGO® themes and extraordinary MOCs (my own creation), all highlighting the creativity, innovation, and enduring appeal of LEGO®. Brickz Museum is committed to preserving and sharing the history behind the iconic brick. Our mission is to inspire future generations and celebrate the endless creativity and joy that LEGO® has brought to millions around the world.

Milton Keynes: A City Entwined with LEGO® History

Milton Keynes holds a special place in the heart of LEGO® history in the UK. The city hosted the first LEGO World Exhibition in 1982, and in 2002, it became home to the first LEGO® store in the UK, cementing its reputation as a hub for LEGO® enthusiasts. The opening of the Brickz Museum in Milton Keynes continues this tradition, as there could be no better place to tell the story.

A Must-Visit Destination for All Ages

At Brickz Museum, visitors will have the unique opportunity to step back in time and relive cherished memories from their childhood through an extensive collection of LEGO® sets spanning decades. From the nostalgic early wooden toys of the 1930s to the beloved space and castle themes of the 1970s and 1980s, each display is meticulously curated to bring back the magic and wonder of youthful imagination.

Guests can wander through detailed recreations of classic sets rediscovering the joy and creativity sparked by their first LEGO® experiences. It's a place where adults can reconnect with their past and share the timeless joy of LEGO® with the next generation, creating new memories while revisiting the old.

The museum is open Monday to Sunday during school holidays and Friday to Sunday during term time. Visitors are encouraged to pre-book tickets online to secure their spot and avoid waiting times, though tickets can also be purchased at the door.
