Police warn of road delays during evening convoys.
Traffic police have warned motorists that there could be delays over the ‘coming weeks’ as they escort abnormal loads on roads near Milton Keynes and on to the M1 motorway.
Bedfordshire’s Roads Policing unit will be escorting the large convoys from Kempston near Bedford, to London every Thursday and Sunday evening each week until mid-December.
The convoys will leave Kempston at 8pm and travel on the westbound A421 before joining the southbound M1 at junction 13 near Church End, Milton Keynes. They will then travel to the M25.
“Each one is expected to be completed by 9.30pm,” said a police spokesperson. “Please note that there may be travel delays while these convoys take place and to plan your journey accordingly.”
