Stuart Kelman & Liam King were inspired to raise funds for a defibrillator for North Street after a person collapsed on North Street on a Friday afternoon some years back.
Stuart told us, 'We were attending a car boot sale on the Sunday & decided to put the money towards a goal of a defibrillator for North Street, the ghost busters image came about just like the Marshmallow man from the iconic movie Ghost Busters in an instant the reason being that if a defibrillator saves one life then it is a Ghost Buster.'
So far we have managed to raise the money by our ourselves selling unwanted goods at car boot sales £774.We have so far purchased the defibrillator without an outside cabinet so for the short term till we can raise more funds to purchase an outside cabinet so it can be accessible 24 Hours a day. Our next aim will be to register the defibrillator with the Ambulance service as well as online via the website Defib finder. If you require access just call into the Barber Shop on 61 North Street & you can have access to the defibrillator for emergency use.
We purchased Ghost Buster badges a few years back, 1000 of them & gave them out to the local community without telling anyone our goal till we achieved it. Now those who have been given a badge now know the reason & what the badge represents.
