
Climbing centre scoops leisure prize at Business Achievement Awards.
Climb Quest Milton Keynes have been celebrating after winning this year’s ‘Leisure, Entertainment and Hospitality’ category at the Milton Keynes Business Achievement awards.
The fantastic evening had over 500 guests in attendance, and 51 finalists across 16 categories. This year’s theme was ‘Bridging the Gap: Skills & Learning for Our Future Workforce’ and all finalists demonstrated their excellent work and commitment to developing the future workforce of MK.
With a large proportion of the staff at Climb Quest being under 18 and in their first job, the organisation works to support their staff through training programmes, including technical and soft skills, as well as offering opportunities for staff to progress in their roles. Climb Quest also take on students every year for work experience placements, providing learning opportunities for the future workforce in Milton Keynes.
The award-winning climbing centre is located at The Kingston Centre, and is an independently owned, family-run business. Since opening, the action-packed climbing centre has hosted public climbing sessions, as well as birthday parties, schools, SEND and toddler sessions, youth groups, charities, and corporates.
Announcing Climb Quest as this year’s winner, the panel from MKBAA said:
“The judges were impressed with the strong family ethos this company has and their commitment to bridging the skills gap through apprenticeships and training was highly commended. They are focused on their strategy and have clear business goals. They are working with young people and their dedication to being an inclusive entertainment venue was also recognised through their youth groups, disability sessions and visually impaired sessions.”
Climb Quest jumps out in the world of Leisure and Entertainment by taking it to new heights and enhances the profile of Milton Keynes by serving as an exciting but accessible gateway to the increasingly popular sport of climbing. The activity is inclusive for a hugely diverse range of ages, abilities, and confidence levels, which fits with Milton Keynes’ ethos as a dynamic and inclusive city and customer reviews show the sense of achievement and pride that visitors get from experiencing Climb Quest.
