It's the mid 1960's and the UK charts are swamped by the music of bands from Liverpool, Manchester and London. No longer is there a dominance of American music as in the early 1960's. Spearheaded by the sounds of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, we now have our own burgeoning beat scene. There is an excitement in the air, a feeling that you can do just what you want and that the sky's your limit. Tonight, we will be reliving the excitement of those days when things were on the change and the grey days of the 1950's were but a distant memory. To celebrate the music from those times, we bring you three local bands:
RED ROOSTER - Pat, Andy, Monty, Kevin and Rick who will kick things off with a set of well-known songs by, you've guessed it, those rascals of rock'n'roll, The Rolling Stones.
THE RECOLLECTIONS need little introduction, having played at York House a couple of times recently. Joe, Sarah, Helena, Mitch and Edd will treat you to their well-honed harmonies with songs from The Beatles, The Hollies, Herman's Hermits and more.
THE KYNX – Well-known local musicians Andy, Andy, Ant and Tommo will bring you their Muswell Hill sound with a great selection of songs by the Kinks to finish off the evening.
Be ready to rock your socks off and behave like you were 17 all over again!
