Discover the mystery and phenomenon of Number Stations.

More Information (MKFM is not responsible for external websites)

Spy communications have long been a mystery; those who use or listen to the short wave, especially radio amateurs, will be aware of Number Stations whilst others may have seen or heard transmissions used as effects in music or as a soundtrack additive in spy films, or used as intriguing storylines in TV series, such as 'Lost'.

‘Number Stations, 1950 to the Present’ examines this phenomenon with the how, why and sometimes the when explained in detail. This talk will examine the modes used, the different styles of sending and will explain a number of actual cases where Number Stations were used and stated in the prosecution of the recipients.

This event is in association with the Radio Society of Great Britain.
